They don't - 3* to 6* only boosts exist. Use the solo crystals for a load of attack / health boosts, which you can use to raise the PI slightly, but that's about it1 -

Yeah. But these are the old basic vs new basic, which have like 2% less chance of a 6*, and can't remember the 5* rates. That's why people are annoyed1 -
