That's called blockstun. You're not able to do any action while you are in blockstun. You have to evade before the block, or after you come out of blockstun.10 -

Solid list. Would definitely open this instead of the basic crystal. I just hope it stays solid, because it takes about 6 months to get 15.000 shards together through the uncollected event quest.1
