They might be increasing rewards by 25% manually to dampen the blow of the 25% premium they put on dual class Crystal's.19 -

I'll give kabam a way of turning this into a win without changing the cost of the crystal. Make the dual class 6 star a nexus for 12.5k shards and complaints will stop and everyone will be happy.12 -
