People were unfairly banned for playing quake. Couldn't the same happen again?

Honestly tho, if that already happened, dont you think it's possible other players are losing their account unfairly? Explanations should be given.

Only 1 person was banned for using quake. And even that was just an assumption, never confirmed. And said player was unbanned after kabam investigated deeper. Again never confirmed. So no, I don’t think it just happens for no reason.

If he was banned for using quake, it’s probably more that he used bots in arena to win a quake. The best strategies when trying to figure out if somebody is lying rarely involves asking the culprit if they are lying.

Most cheaters are liars for sure, but your assumption in the case of a Quake player is wrong. The guy filed a BBB complaint. Not only did Kabam respond to it and admit the ban was due to mistakenly identifying his Quake play as cheating, the company sent him a generous compensation package.

He wasn't the only Quake player who got mistakenly banned and then unbanned either.

Mistakes happen. Back in the early days, there was a guy who got banned for clearing ROL when it was extremely to do so. Fortunately, he had his entire run recorded. Successfully got his account unbanned.

We are seeing an avalanche of threads by what seems like obvious cheaters. They deserve their bans. That doesn't mean the detection system is bullet proof accurate.

Ah my mistake and apologies then. I wasn’t around for that one. That’s good he got his stuff back.
