Human Torch synergy not working as intended

HT synergy with capiw is not working properly or rather isn't as effective as it seems. The general idea that using your sp2 into the opponent's block to recieve 2 smolders sounds awesome but it comes with a cost. This synergy was supposed to negate that and give him time to escape. However, the synergy doesn't last long enough to give him time to block or dash back. Could there possibly be a way to make this synergy work or perhaps increase the miss timer to 1 second? I'd prefer to pop sp2s and sp1 now and then to stack his smolders rather than use sp3s over an over in regular fights where smolders dont come as easy.
