Iβm kinda curious why kabam needs people from 6:1 to test the content seems kinda weird If their worry is that itβll be too easy surely wonβt people realise that even if they are endgame?
I mean you want to have wide roster variations and skill levels I'd assume to make sure you're hitting all the points and goals and to see what different types of skills and rosters will make of it
closest thing i ever got to a beta was a survey that took me like 20 minutes to fill out (i didnt get anything for it). wish i was good enough to get into a beta though.!
I've somehow been invited to the majority of the betas since I reached cavalier. I know it would require a tad more work but I think if you are in 1 beta you should get a lower chance of entering the next one. That way other ppl can get a chance. I realize there may be times that they need certain ppl due to the requirements they are after. There is a large pool of players and I am sure several would like the opportunity to join no matter what the beta is for since some are more important than others from a player perspective. I'd think more ppl would want to try out act 7 than say something like the Hulkbuster beta but that's just my opinion. I'm sure there are smarter ppl than I am that could come up with something that is a little more fair and balanced so everyone at least gets a chance to join.

There are lots of possibilities. I can think of one in particular. Kabam is in the process of adjusting the difficulty of Act 6.3 and 6.4 downward, so the actual target for Book 2 could in fact be closer to players who completed 6.2 rather than players who completed 6.4 in terms of relative difficulty. So while players who have completed 6.2 wouldn't be able to jump into Book 2 immediately upon release, Kabam might want to know how difficult Book 2 is relative to players who have already completed 6.2 and are in the middle of 6.3.
However, it might be much easier to grab a list of players who have completed 6.1 for the beta test system than to datamine for players who have completed 6.2 or are in the middle of 6.3. And since 6.2 itself was reduced in difficulty (vis a vis the Champion fight) the difference between players who have completed 6.1 and 6.2 might be close enough to what they want that they decided to set the minimum invitation bar to Cavalier rather than 6.2 or 6.4 completion.
The idea that new Cav players would somehow "contaminate" the beta presumes that Kabam just listens to the loudest players in the beta. But that hasn't been my experience in the betas I've been in. The discussions are much more focused, and the requirement to be constructive much higher in the betas than the open forums. I would not be surprised if your conduct and participation in the beta directly affected whether you see the inside of another beta. And in the much smaller group of players the devs probably have a much better idea of the progress and roster of the players giving feedback.
So if a two-day old Cav player says Book 2 is too hard, that doesn't mean it is going to be adjusted downward for them. It may simply be that "too hard" is exactly what it should be for such a player, and the beta test would confirm that. Having players slightly above and below the target audience is useful for that reason: it basically allows you to bracket your data.
Also, since I've been asked the question directly, I'll clarify something else. When I say it is probably easier for the devs to pull Cav players rather than 6.2 players for the beta test invitations, but also know what the progress of the players who are giving feedback is, is that a contradiction? How could they know everyone's progress, and yet not use it to build a beta invitation list? And the answer is: it is often the case that data is easy to fetch in one direction but not another. Consider a phone book. If you want to look up the phone number of one particular name, that's easy: that's what the phone book is explicitly designed for. In database terms, that's just a forward query. But if I were to ask you for a list of every single person whose phone number starts with the same three digits, that's extremely difficult because the phone book is typically not sorted that way. The reverse query is much more expensive to do. Similarly, it could be that looking up one player's progress is easy, but pulling a list of every player with the same progress is difficult, absent an obvious key to search for (like the Cavalier title, say).
I got invite, and sent request in to be in beta. The icon that was next to settings tap is now gone. Is that normal? Or does that mean I wonβt be in beta testing? Never done it before so not sure exactly how it all works.

Sorry if I'm late to the party, but I have fully explored act 6, but haven't gotten a beta invite, and people who have completed 6.1 have gotten an invite. So, where's my invite? Is this a bug? Please don't tell me that beta testers are 'randomly' selected. Cheers
You are not late cause there was no party to begin with.

I hope I get it sometime soon.
The actual Beta begins on Tuesday, September 8 at 2pm EST, at which time the Beta icon will reappear if you signed up.
Not to worry, this is how every Beta works. The icon will reappear when the Beta Starts.
