Does Quake need to be awakened to deserve ranking upa to 5/50??

I've been sitting in 6 t4 science cats waiting for a champ that deserved ranking up. Today I got Quake. My question is, should I rank her up being unduped?? Can she be a good champ until I get her again or get an awakening gem??
