Ice armor VS ironman Infinity war

Maybe I missed something..
But the the last 3 wars I've been in, I use Iceman for node 44. IMIW will get hit with a special 3 with ice armor but the 5% damage wint apply.
Is there something I'm missing or is this a clitch???

Imiw is coldsnap immune, iceman isn't a good choice for him and if u do use iceman, use L2 as it's the only special that doesn't rely on coldsnap to do damage

Are you mistaking the description?
Ice armor doesn't allow you to lose more than 5% HP from a single source, meaning you can get hut with a sp3 that you'll only lose 5% of your HP.

It doesn't cause 5% damage to the defender
