Iceman ice armor and coldsnap

I've noticing alot lately that when my Iceman has Ice armor he is still taking full damage and the timer does not start ta refresh Ice armor. Am i the only one experiencing this?? Also why does Iceman take Coldsnap damage (hes literally made of ice) I'm sure this has been discussed before im just not on the forum alot.
