Fix nightcrawler in AQ

The timer disappears when trying to switch him into swashbuckling and he’s not even evading. Please look into this issue. Thanks

Yeah, it’s been like that for at least two months. I finally had to learn the “trick” of swiping into the air with a light attack the second he dashes back. I’m glad I did because it’s a much easier way to switch him but even that is slightly temperamental now. It still works you just have to be quick.

Im not sure I understand what you mean? When i keep hitting into his block the timer just disappears. I’ve tried to keep hitting into his block after it disappears but he won’t switch...

As he dashes back, throw a light attack that won't connect to him then hold your block. Works for baiting out specials on opponents too.

@Gonzawesome80 I agree with you that that is happening. What WiMak is talking about is a trick to get him to switch himself. Look it up on youtube.

OK, I take it back. I could not get the trick to work just now. First of all, he wasn’t dashing back very much, he just kept walking towards me over and over. And when he did Dash back, not only was he not holding block he just dash in right away??! He is acting very weird right now

I don't want to be THAT guy, but the best way is not to use the trick... It was an exploit anyway, now he's a better defender, Best way is to bring a true strike champ to stop his evade, Killmonger, Proxima, Corvus (with prox synergy) Gamora heck even Karnak! Spidergwen and She hulk can prevent evades too and I'm sure there's alot others I'm missing 🤣

That “trick” was removed in an update.

Today in AQ Map5x5 i put that mode in NC second mini boss, with that trick (dash back, light atack and defense while shows The clock). So it works.

(But game is very unstable for me, i have very difficult to parry)

This problem of the timer missing when he isnt evading has been going on for months, but when bugs harm the players, that is the kabam policy, make a blind eye

Definitely still works but very temperamental and he is ridiculously erratic and unpredictable

Since this "problem" was first reported I've been continuing to observe Nightcrawler. I'm now basically absolutely certain that nothing was specifically done to remove the "switch trick" and the only thing that is happening is that Nightcrawler, like most AI controlled champions, has bursts of "twitchiness" where they won't hold block continuously, but twitch in and out of it. This doesn't happen continuously or consistently, and I've found it to always be the case that you can use properly timed light attacks to switch NC. It is just that the window of vulnerability for this trick to work comes and goes, and has less up time.

They should just change NC to have Permanent Evade-Mode if he is Defender, and Permanent Swashbucking Mode if he is brought by you as an attacker. No more switching modes during fight.

Fought 3 of 4 NC mini bosses last 2 days and was able to switch him quite easily using the light attack trick. Much easier than when 22.0 first came out actually, so it’s erratic. But just updated to 23.0.1 today (I skipped 23.0.0) and fought the first NC mini boss. Couldn’t use the light attack trick after multiple tries. Will see if I can try again on the second mini boss.

Edit: tried on several duels with NC and couldn’t get him to switch too using the tricky. In fact he hardly even held block for me to try to switch him the regular way of hitting into his block. Very twitchy.
