Why is Doctor Strange taking Thorns damage

I just had a fight in Maps six and my Doctor Strange took thorns damage until he died

His basic attacks make contact with the enemy.

Why does he not take any damage from Korg then?

Korg doesn’t give thorns damage from energy attacks.
