Adding skins to characters and how

If they can charge for a stupid profile pic, they can charge for skins ... It's a simple revenue source, assuming it was coded properly and changing skins is a config item and not a code change.

too late now. I read somewhere that costume or uniform swaps were considered earlier on, but that ship's sailed.

Future Fight has it and it's one example of FF being superior to this game - you don't get eleventy bajillion versions of six characters at different star levels and different outfits. You get one character you advance through star levels and then to tier 2 and a choice (usually) of outfits.
