How to Use My Generic 5* Gem and Sig Stones/First R5

So I just got Elder's Bane less than a week ago. Right now i have 3 T5 basic and no R5s. I have unawakened void at R2, and I have a 3-4 gem for science. I was planning on awakening him and throwing all of my science sig stones into him. (~75) I was wondering if I should save some of those sig stones for my Cap IW at all, or just throw them all into void.
Also, would it be better to R5 Venom for Variant 2? If I 100% that I'll have another T5 basic and a rank 4-5 gem as well. So I could still R5 Void or someone else relatively soon.
