Noticeable difference with hypes sp1 missing

I use hype for pretty much every game mode and have instantly noticed that something has been tampered with since the update has been released. What are these changes you’re making?
There were no issues with his specials before the update and now when I release his sp1 when the opponent runs towards me, it doesn’t connect with the opponent.
Can someone shed some light on what has been changed?
