Have to disagree there. While it I'm sure gets misused there are people who feel the need to troll and that's what it was designed for. The disagree button should differentiate between troll posts and a post you just disagree with

The Disagree Button is there for exactly that. People who disagree. It also doesn't affect Points.
People have trolled the Flags for years, and disagreeing with someone's view does not make them a troll, or give reason to Flag their every comment as Spam. That was never the intention of the Flags. They were to bring things to the attention of the Moderators that break the rules. Not just to Flag the people we don't like.

Yes but they removed the flag button so now there is no way to flag posts that are just trolling. the disagree button is a great addition but they should have left the flag button

Probably to avoid abuse of it due to everyone flagging things they don't approve of.

This is correct. The 'Flagging' system was meant to be used for 'Abuse' and 'Spam' not for disagreement, but folks still used it for that and it would bog down our systems making it hard to find actual spam and/or abuse. Therefore we wanted go about implementing a different system to better this.

No. It represents the amount of like, awesome, insightful and agree you have on your profile. Mine for ex has 500ish points which equals a 3* profile
