This year will mark the 5th year of this game. Isn't half a decade already enough of this nonsense? Why even call it Epic event when at the end you get scraps for all that effort and all that waiting? Is it going to hurt their bottom line that much if they made the worst possible reward you can get, "decent," at the very least. Maybe you don't get the 5* Featured Crystal or the 2000 6* shards. But several thousand T5B and T2A will make you feel a little bad but not feel like you really just got the worst possible deal of the decade.

We are not asking god tier rewards at every turn NOR even good rewards. But please, not utter garbage like that one in the picture. How is that going to help at all? Maybe make it at least 15 5* sig stones then it's not so bad. But 5??? Does Kabam hate its player base that much? is there a sense that there are people in the corporate offices who are conniving to silently make this game die by making frustration levels this high?

Forgive me for the harshness but RNG cannot be used as an excuse anymore at this point. Soon there will be games that will be more rewarding, less stressful and fun to play. To what end is Kabam hoping to achieve by not sharing the burden of its players of MCOC? This kind of reward simply shows total lack of empathy and cluelessness of the game design team about what the players feel and what this game is all about.

Looking at 5x 5* sig stones of a specific class, that’s 1/4 a full dupe of a 5* champ of your choice of that class. It isn’t as bad as it seems if you see it as 2500 5* shards.

I personally found that I really enjoyed the way the Nick Fury's Intel event went down. You saved up resources to get guaranteed rewards (yes there's the whole thing with awakening gem and champion acquisition RNG, but it was mostly that you got a guaranteed reward). I feel that if Kabam was able to figure out more ways to offer this sort of rewards system, that would be amazing.
And the biggest frustration for me with these sorts of quests is that it imbalances the game a fair bit. I mean think of last month. A new player might open say 5 greater last stand crystals, and get 2 5* awakening gems, whether as a veteran player could open 30 or so and get nothing but gold and maybe a few units.
I believe that guaranteed rewards are the best and most balanced way to do rewards systems. I really hope that Kabam can figure out how to innovate on that idea.

But hey. If you want the best shot at guaranteed value, do the stable rifts. I'll probably do one or two of them if I can, just because I really want the extra shards.

Like I always tell my alliance members, if it’s beyond your control there’s no point getting angry and frustrated. Work with what you have and eventually you’ll pull what you want/need.

@xNig There's bad then there's garbage bad. I don't think there's any metaphor conceivable that can give justice to the level of frustration when you get a garbage champ as a 6* because somebody in the Kabam team thought it was cool for players to suffer such level of misery. At certain levels, like Epic, Uncollected and later maybe even Cavalier tier, a set minimum "okay" rewards should be bare minimum. Throwing the vast majority of players (vast majority because I believe the vast majority are the unlucky ones) left over bones because some sadist game developer in Kabam's team causes this kind of unnecessary frustration for a game that could be so much better if more thought would be given, more testing done before they roll out content.

It’s true. 2 Tier 5 basic catalyst were great. And that only further proves my point. Every determined rewards are good and every RNGs are bad. 2000 6* shards give me Electro, which is bad. 3-4 rank up gem was mutant which I had no mutant champ to use it on. And awakening gem was cosmic which also unusable.

It’s not the only time. It happened multiple times in a row. It drains your energy and your eagerness to get new crystals. Yes I know the odds and I DO NOT agree with it. Why don’t Kabam increase the fixed rewards and reduce the randomness to acceptable and reasonable level? Why everything in this game is determined by a computer and we can only see it hopelessly like a lottery. I don’t play lottery if I want to play it I would like to go to a casino.

The whole RNG needs to be reworked.

My problem is with events where it’s like double layers of rng let’s say you need good luck to get the 6* shards but then need good luck with the 6* itseld

Diablo is a very bad comparison. Why? At some point you will get whatever you're hoping to get even Ancient Level gear, it's just a matter of when. (I played 6 months in the various rifts, got to level 77 solo WW Barb with all Ancient gear, I have three pieces of my Immortal King Set already Primordial).

In this game it is possible you will never get something you could have hoped for since the game started in Dec. 2014. That is the painful truth of the difference of MCOC RNG and Diablo 2/3 RNG. My second 5* was Spidey og - got him end of 2017. Haven't duped him yet.

If I didn't stop playing Diablo 3 I am most certain by now all my stuff would be Primordial, probably able to clear level 90+ rifts solo with such gear.

You need to compare this game to another game that's as equally frustrating and heart breaking.

Even though you could still end up with a 5* awakening that is not the one you're hoping for, it's still a 5* awakening gem regardless. Not 100,000 gold you can get from doing a few hours of arena.

Whoever signed off on that Nick Fury event should be promoted to the position heading the whole Kabam MCOC team. I bet if that happened there will be a lot more fun and enjoyable event quests than ever, not the crappy and garbage ones we seem to be getting now.

It's part of cashgrab strategy. They want only small portion of players to get good rewards, so the rest sees these pulls, gets angry and more likely to snap and buy them for few hundred bucks. It is not going to change, because it is deliberate

Kabam either need to loosen up on its character selection or character advancement restrictions, they give us so many useless things but nothing to level up the odd good pull they give us. One or the other has to happen.

I mean i had to max out Joefixit in order to beat the collector because the game just could not give me anything at all to work with. Which proves my point that something needs to give here.

I believe in most content, rewards are fixed, eg Story Acts, Variant, Monthly EQs etc. The randomness comes mainly from additional content that constitutes "free rewards" that we get from doing the "fixed rewards" content, which is acceptable.

It was actually just a rehash of the additional quest that came with the introduction of Thor Rag. Iirc, at that time it was "Courage" instead of "Intel". The second iteration was Rocket's Scrapyard.

Isn't this the exact reason why you stopped Diablo 3?

Items were too easily available, if you want to run solo Grifts Leaderboards you needed x set with highest possible stats and highest possible paragon and lucky Grift fishing. To get perfect items, you either needed to grind endless T10/13/16 (whichever is the highest Torment level is now) or speed run Grifts, transmute enough rare items, then grind your gems to augment them etc etc. End result is everyone has the same configuration, which is boring.
