What’s the sit out period before AQ participation?

How long before going a new ally does someone have to wait before they can participate in AQ???

As long as they are in an alliance when a new round of AQ starts they can join

They miss the rewards for the round if they aren't in the alliance when it starts, but they can still participate and get rewards day by day
