Should be "proven" but stuck at "contender"

I have completed (actually, 100% explored) Act 3, and yet I am still stuck at "contender." And I cannot access, for example, the "Ultimate crystal" in the new black market, saying I have to complete act 3 first. Something doesn't seem right. Any clue how to get this fixed?
