Question about Sentinel for the new variant

Does Sentinel need to be awakened for this variant? When AQ ends, I'll be able to 4/55 someone and thinking of the tin man here. Mines unawakend though, and I don't know much about how he works.

No he doesn’t, and when the bore is fixed he won’t really need it at all
