If memory serves, Red Cyclops came about during the Avengers vs X-Men series (AVX) when the Phoenix Force split itself into 5 different X-Men. That's when Cyclops killed some Avengers and Prof. X.

Cyclops was also a villain in the Age of Apocalypse miniseries. Mister Sinister, who was a Horseman of Apocalypse, became the foster father of both Scott and Alex (Havok) after their parents died. Guess Gabriel didn't exist in that timeline. Gabriel Summers, aka Vulcan, is the youngest of the 3 brothers.

Cyclops was also kind of one in the late 60s when he pretended to be the villain Erik the Red to infiltrate a supervillain group to rescue some captured X-Men. Don't think that one counts though lol

Comics or movies don't really matter. If he is a villain in this game, he is, and will have the villain tag due to being a villain
