6.2 - done!

UmbertoDelRioUmbertoDelRio Member Posts: 5,400 ★★★★★

After a lot of hesitation and grinding about 1000 units after reading a whole lot of horror stories on this forum I finally decided to throw my hat into the ring.

And... Well, it wasn't nearly as bad as I feared. Granted I had a 5/65 cap iw to do all the heavy lifting it still went rather smoothly overall.

I was so nervous about those last 10%, though, that I blew around 500 units on just getting there lol.

But after I got him down there I took a little break and managed to one-shot his last phase on the first try.

Definitely not going to explore 6.2 anytime soon, though lmao.

By done I thought you meant 100% done, fully explored 😉

Anyway still an awesome thing to do 💪👍 I spent way more units on my completion run, which was mainly due to not practising/dueling against Cowhale’s 6* Champion.

After doing it once and I had my timing right I was tempted to 100% that quest until I saw the No-Retreat node.
    Congrats though!

I wish lol. Just the initial completion.

I spent quite some time practicing against cowhale's champion today. Without that I definitely would have spent way more or even given up lol.
No restreat really is not that bad, if you have the champion down pat you should have no issues. I used a 6* r1

Wouldn't you just constantly degen and have to get 5 perfect dex's? can't imagine there being must room for mistakes when timing at all.

I used a parry, retreat method. I would parry retreat once, if he threw a special I would wait for him to come to me and evade the head butt, if he charged me again I would just parry retreat once more. The great thing about the champion is he is pretty generous with his specials. I think I used 1-2 revives on the last 10% on that.

just to warn you I probably spent 3-5 getting him to 10%, but that is mostly because I could not bring my hood or SS with me.

The last 10% is the easy part - the first 90% combined with the linked nodes comes the ****.

    Congrats, mate.

Made two attempts already - spent buttloads of units, to no avail.

Sorry but I need to confirm if kbm changed the animation or something wrong with dex. I watched video demos of dexxing the 6.2.6 boss L1. I am using CapIW but he has that stop after dashing in then gets clipped. Anything I missed?

I think it could maybe just be your timing? you gotta dash in right before head butts so when he is you dex

    Thanks for the tip, mate.

Nice, I got him Down soon after it was released and tbh capiw was my man there, r4 tho, but I changed mastery a bit and it was absolutely doable, exploring 6.1 in free time also waiting for 6.3,so not touching 6.2 exploration either

If you are getting clipped after dashing your timing is off.

There is another method, you can do a double dash back from the special and let him come to you, the timing should be such that he reaches you as with one hit left in his hand attacks, so you can either evade that for your charge or eat it and evade the head butt.

Congrats, caiw annihilates that last 10%, he’s one of the few champs you can just evade out of blocking and survive multiple times

Eh, even with cap, at R4 or under in particular if you take more than a few blocked hits without full max boosts you're gonna die
  • WorknprogressWorknprogress Member Posts: 7,233 ★★★★★
I definitely wouldn't rely on taking blocked hits to get a dex as your main strategy

I fully agree. Granted I currently don't have any points in the block proficiency mastery, my 5/65 cap took a whole lot of block damage.

You even get chip damage when parrying, so I used the rush in and dex the last hit method lol.
That's what I did as well. Plus it helps for when you do paths that you can't really bring cap with you. I had a run I had to use sym sup for the whole fight and you're definitely not just gonna sit there and tank blocks with him

you would need to define "more than a few", if you take 50, sure, but you could probably take 20 at r4. He has a base 70% block I believe, not counting glancing and the like.

I doubt that many at R4 honestly. Champion has highly increased block penetration as a boss

Cap doesnt even have perfect parries against him. You still take chip damage
