Game wont update

Hey all, having a weird issue.
Yesterday I went to download the update from the app store. It downloaded the initial update, but the game is refusing to load or start the update when the app opens now.
Ive tried doing it on both lte network and wifi. Tried phone restart, tried rebooting my router, tried redownloading the app. I still cannot get it to attempt to download the game. It just stays on the first load screen of the 4 and the wheel spins indefinitely. I actually left it over night and stayed on the same screen for 8 hours...
Im on iphone 7, most up to date iOS. Can confirm no issue with my wifi, as my other internet using devices are working just fine. Any suggestions on what to try?
