Champions throw SPs from block ?

Occurred multiple times, I did couple hits into block and I ended up eating a SP. It was always MLLL combo, so no combo ender was used, yet I was hit. Is this a bug or is it intended ?

They are likely using a special while you are not attacking them, mid your hits

This has been happening for me since two patches ago. It is very random, but when it happens on an important fight it huerts as hell.

I have been playing since may 2015 I believe, so it's the second option I guess Anyway, it happened to me sometimes before, but now it is way more often.
