Problems against hood in aq

So as of let I have run into what I view to be another crippling issue. I just faced hood in front of Dormanu in aq. He was about 20k. Fight is going as planned and well. Then he triggers another l1, I am not in range of his push but just in case I am holding block getting ready to dash back. He does not touch me and I am blocking but the push stuns me and I am tagged with the 2nd part which leaves me dying from shock damage. This is not the first time this has happened.
It does not happen Every time I face him but I would say like 1 in 10 l1 he manages to ignore my block and tag me anyway.
I can't even begin to explain how frustrated I am at this game at this point. If the fix is not roled out prior with compensation that must be equivalent to thousands of units, I will not be participating in the next.
