Possible bug with 6.3.6 capiw?

Unsure if this is actually a bug or if the fight is working as intended so I was just wondering. When fighting 6.3.6 capiw, the destructive feedback node won’t actually do damage to the boss when the shield expires. I know for a fact I was landing critical hits against the boss while the shield was up, so shouldn’t those criticals have done damage when the shield from destructive feedback expired? Is this a bug or the way the fight is intended to work? Please offer some clarification, because this was super trippy the first couple times it happened and obviously if this is a bug it made the fight significantly harder.

The damage is stored and dished out to CapIW in the form of direct damage (non-critical). But this is blocked by the node which requires you to crit. I think this is intended and not a bug.
