Game device compatibility

Probably a stupid question, but why does the game not run/run properly on older devices? The game looks the exact same as it did when it was released years ago, animations, basic gameplay, UI, etc haven't had any DRASTIC changes that you can clearly point to and say "Yeah you need an Iphone 11 because look at how much better those backgrounds look".
Is it just a necessity of the game having to be re-worked for every phone OS version which ultimately make it perform not optomaly on older OS versions?

Graphics are different, deppending on the device. What is shown to you isn't everything it matters, and since the game is constantly evolving it will eventually require more and more of the device performance. Eventually, these become outdated in a certain update, since it no longer supports what the game has to offer, and will result in problems for the device.

This is a really well said and worded explanation. It's unfortunate, but in order to keep pressing forward there will be older devices that more or less get left in the dust. This is happening across many evolving mobile apps. The more devices, the more apps follow suit.

Yea, but there is a thing called as game optimization for performance and graphical settings what any other game has. Sad part is that this game runs worse than any other game on appstore, and that includes all games brand new released this year. Games like MMORPG’s which shows 30 people on screen in a same time and still runs smoother than contest of champions, or any other game that runs on max setting 60fps like Call of duty battle royale and does not drop a single frame.
I personally tried all of the top demanding games on appstore and can tell u that marvel contest of champions is the only game that has stuttering issues. So if Kabam would do optimizations for performance of the game or at least introduce graphic settings would be pretty neat. U cant expect people to buy new device every year just to play game smoothly instead of doing one of the mentioned things above. When people are getting stutters on iphone XS max than it’s definitely not the device that cant handle the game but the game itself.

Yeah if there was an option to run the game without the background animations, and just a stagnant background to improve performance I'd JUMP ON IT. I imagine animating the whole background is ressource intensive and that rendering could go towards the actual gameplay performance
