Using boost in defence phase in alliance war

Like the tilte, if i use boost in defence phase to place champions, Will those boosts, in attack phase, still active ?

    No boosts dont work on defense

    Will it affect the PI of the champ, cause my alliance mate used it and said the PI didn't change even when the atk phase start
