How good is Thing without synergies?

I have a 5* duped Thing that haven’t touched because I’m not a fan of the champion synergy since I’m quite a “safe” player. I know that he’s supposedly “god tier”, but is he actually useful without that synergy? Or is he pretty meh?

He's the best defender in the game, and is very useful on offense.

I use thing without the synergy all the time. I’ve never really used that synergy apart from a few times in act 5. U have to be very good at playing without being hit, and I’m not that good. He’s still good offence wise without the synergies
