It's registering that Namor's still attacking when you counter the medium attack and reflecting the damage. It's like Mighty Charge, where they stay unstoppable for a split second after the medium attack. If you hesitate a little bit you can counter his medium without it reflecting.

You are basically intercepting him, which is interrupting his attack with your attack. If you delay it a bit, it will not count as an intercept and you willbe able to bypass it

Do the “ghosting” on the second hit and you’re free to destroy him without taking damage.
