Question regarding Alliance Gifting event

How long does it take to get milestone rewards once you join an ally? I have contributed enough points for 3 milestone but recently joined the ally.

U can’t get them since ther probably already got them befor you

Is that the reason? Or will i get it after being in the ally for a bit more time? Also will i qualify for ranked rewards?
