I am having trouble logging in. I got a new phone and when I login it does not link my old account to the new phone. It starts me from the beginning

If you had not saved your progress using a Kabam or Google Play account, you can kiss your account goodbye. Just sign in with the your Kabam or Google Play ID if you have made it.
