Mastery tips

So I achieved level 60. I don't have any 5/50 heroes. And I cannot finish the last the monthly Quest yet.

Is it me? I know I have to improve my game play... But what can I do with my masteries in order to make easier to finish 100% monthly quest, Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 after that.

    OK, wow. here goes:
Take all 4 each off of physical and energy resistance. Add recovery and salve instead.
Stand your ground only needs 2/5 for PI, 0 if you don't get hit by heavies. Most do 1 or 2.
Don't need Limber & Dexterity maxed; I don't think more than 1 or 2 in limber and 1 in dexterity just to get evade.
Unlock Stupefy, pacify & petrify. I max stupefy for longer stuns & pacify to lessen ability triggers during the stun.
When you have more cores/units unlock assassin, but the above is pretty important to me.

    Thank you, @BuckeyeKP

As soon as I get the resources, I'll make some changes.

The fury points are a waste, better in another place. Same the Cosmic one, recover it.

About the cosmic point I'm going to recover it. The fury points are really a waste?

Your attack looks fairly good, except the fury points need moved, (Yes, really a waste) Put one in courage. And the other, once you get the materials into DW.

Yep, because it's better to invest those points in others masteries.

But this guy can explain you more reasons about why Fury masteries zucks. And hints about every other masterie.

That was a great chart pre-wp nerf, but it needs some serious updating. I wouldn't set my masteries based on this chart anymore.

Maybe I'm wrong but I think that guide is very recent, post v12 at least.

Edit: Yep, it was created in May this year.

Thank you all for the tips and for the excellent guide.

I need more units to make all the changes... but I'm on my way.

Would this setup still relevant as I am only level 46 and with so many changes in patches, I I'm afraid of making mistakes

Let me clarify. I made alot of mistakes my first setup. Aka I don't even have cruelty, precision or evade or dex. I put points in stuff I didnt know any better.
With that said, I have saved enough for 16 cores. I realize I will quite a bit points left over, but I don't have enough tickets to buy things like petrified, etc.
Can someone give me fed back considering all the changes have taken place. I done want to screw it up again.
    Thanks for advice

See if everyone has the same setup, there would be no point in actually having mastsries.

So there are 2 things kabam could do.
    1. Remove masteries and compensate everyone the units and loyalty they spent (NOT reccommened)
    2. Buff a lot of the unused or "worthless" masteries to make everyone happy (HIGHLY reccommended).

The whole point I'm making is do whatever you want.

Just remember, don't run Suicides without Willpower (I've seen that). Recoil hurts your AW defense. If you wanna have Salve and Recovery maxed along with Willpower then go for it (1 point in WP is good) Salve and Recovery actually help your regen champs.

Masteries are meant to help the champs you use most. So pick 20 champs you use for story mode and event quests, AW and AQ and then try to enhance them with masteries. Precision and Cruelty maxed helps everyone. Despair and Assassin helps everyone. Parry and Dexterity helps everyone and helps your AW defense. If you don't have or use a lot of bleeders much then 1 point in Deep Wounds is enough till you use more Bleeders more often.

With Lag you'll want Stand Your Ground, maybe just 2 points. Perfect Block helps with Parry. At least it should.

Yes, Assassin is great and is absolutely worth unlocking.

Take a look at RoninNupe's mastery guide. Google RoninNupe mastery setup. That's a good place to start and explains why most others have made the recommendations above.

    For what its worth:

I try to get masteries that help as many champs in every fight as I can. Others decide to specialise, that's your choice

    Attack:
Glass cannon is great. Basically 7.2% more damage on EVERY hit. The lost health is 1 less hit you can take, that's it. Recoil and beyond are not worth it

Deep wounds is good if you use a lot of champs that cause bleed, otherwise a waste

Assasin, what is the point? Only kicks in when your opponent is less than 18% I think, that means your already winning and he is nearly dead?

Greater Vitality is a waste, but if you have spare points greater strength is worth it. Maxed out is 8% extra damage every hit in every fight. Do this with maxed GC and your 15.2% more damage on every hit in every fight

Courage can be good if you have the points but you have to be already losing the fight for it to kick in really

Pierce is broke and Fury ones are rubbish

    Defence:
Salve only 1 point, waste after you go over 100k rating. Regen is good, WP is good for at least 1 point as well

SYG, as you need 15 in defence to open the three up, is a better option that salve and perfect block, will save you quite a few times ongoing however good you are and has a great PI boost as well

    Utility:

Limber and dexterity 1 point. Parry and stupefy max out. Rest not really worth it

You have made all the right decisions except for putting 3 points in dexterity, all u need is 1 point there. You can invest these points in stupefy or pacify

    Hello,
I wasted my units on useless things at the beginning of the game, as I wasn't aware about the importance of mastery, now I don't have units and cores are way too costly and I don't want to buy any units. I have the patience to collect units from the quests, events and arenas, but the problem I'm facing is that, I am at level 40 and I'm still not an efficient player. i just cleared act 3 somehow, cannot complete the heroic(forget the mastery mode) in monthly event quests and have a lot of difficulty in defeating opponents with a higher PI than my champion. Yes, I've seen a lot of videos on how to fight well, I even have got some of the masteries done, and I'm collecting units to buy more cores, I've even learned to evade and parry a bit, but my champions cannot cross more than 20 hits continuously. I've been trying for months but still no success. Is there something I'm missing or am I lagging somewhere?
Here are the screenshots of my masteries:

PS- I don't have enough mastery points to master willpower, precision and cruelty and I am currently collecting units to buy the cores.
    Regards,
    rifle100

It seems like it may not be related to your mastery. What happens when you reach about 20 hits?

You need to string a higher continuous hit count. I was struggling too and improve a little. I can now take down HB as miniboss in AQ without getting hit (block damage aside).

Continuous hit count about +70 and above.

See, whenever I try to hit back after 20 or sometimes even 15 hits, the opponent gains control and hits me back when I am already hitting him continuously. I have seen videos where people just keep hitting. Why doesn't that happen with me? Where am I going wrong?

I would definitely get in at least one point for Recovery. Also, dont necessarily max all the Block Masteries. As for the rest of the Basic Masteries, I use as a rule of thumb for Non-Hardcore players this: If the mastery at max level confers less than a 10% stat increase, then dont invest more than one point in it unless it is as "filler" to meet another Mastery's Investment requirement.

Parrying: Once you figure it out, it becomes almost intuition; practice with low-level opponents such as Act 1 provides. Don't try to parry a Dash from across the screen unless you have nothing to lose (meaning that a regular block will KO you). Often an Evade will be better. This is the case for Rhino, whose dash attacks are occasionally Unblockable and Unstoppable. Same for Juggernaut and Unst. Colossus. Dont try to Evade Kang's specials, however; block is more reliable. Be careful around Agent Venom, Thor (Ragnarok), BP (Mirror), MODOK, and Taskmaster.

Evade: When the opponent is about to do a heavy, dash back. If the opponent is BP (Mirror), Electra, X23, or Yellow Jacket, dash back twice. Alternatively you can try hitting YJ after his first kick. Evade is best for Purely Physical Special Attacks like BW's or BP's or Unblockables like Jugggernaut's or Unst. Colossus'. Be careful with Rhino. See above about Thor.

Restraint may be the issue. It was for me until Level 40. Then I got kicked for not being patient about AW nodes. Lesson seared in memory. Also: Never attempt more than 5 consecutive light attacks without a block, evade or pause.
