Buff older champs through synergies

Instead of reworking champions through total overhauls, why not look to do this by adding synergies with new champions that add to underperforming champions? Seems like the easiest way to go about propping up old champs.

That is something that is already being done for quite some time.
Still, the community would still prefer full re-works than synergies buffing the champions

I'm personally not a fan of improving old champs through synergies. So in order for a champ to be worthwhile to bring, that champ would have to take up 2+ roster spots. Nah. Just improve the individual champs.

Totally fair points all, but some of the best champs in the game are great because of their synergies.

I’m not saying don’t buff champs, but I definitely think an OP synergy could make a bad champ great if done well.

Are there any examples of this happening in the past where an old champ became awesome through a new synergy?

@Caino1023 the top synergy that made a bad champ great in my opinion is the killmonger/ winter soldier synergy. Nobody liked WS before that synergy. That one synergy made WS a great champ.

I guess what got me thinking about this is a video I saw today showing the OG Captain America with longshot synergy basically **** down (and in fact reversed slightly I believe) power gain. So Cap vs Hyperion essentially shuts down his power gain.

There are solo synergies that only affect that champ. No reason they couldn’t use those. There’s precedent for them added, removing, and altering abilities. They should use the capability they’ve already put in the game. I’d rather have new abilities fast without hand tuned new animations. Anything to make the process significantly faster.

Yep. I wouldn't say I hate it but it makes it really difficult to get excited for them when all I can do is wait until I get a 4 star version of that new champion who has the synergy from the login crystal 8 months down the line.

It couldn’t hurt. Some champs need all the help they can get. Thing’s synergy with the champion is a game changer for him. I’d love to see other characters get synergies with that much impact
