Why can’t I use a 2016 mystic rank up gem on Ghost Rider???

Just got a 2016 mystic 3-4 rank up gem from Variant chapter completion and it will not let me use it on GR. Even though it list him in the description. What’s up with that?

So what happens when you click on USE ITEMS, is the Rankup Gem among the Items that are useable ?

Yeah, go to the rank up screen.

Go to the rank up screen and not in champs info screen

Click on upgrade and the rank up gem will be at the bottom of the screen in the corner
