Compensation for this AW business

So the general idea of this bug or whatever is that the last AW we did meant nothing. In general this does help our alliance (we lost that war so it’ll mean we don’t fall as much) but I also poured some units into it in the form of revives/health potions. Will we be refunded these potions at all or were they just wasted/impossible to get back

Any info on this would be cool thanks.

Unfortunately not - they specifically stated in advance (both in-game and on the forums) that any items or resources used in that war would not be returned or otherwise compensated.

Many of the resources players can use in AW can be used elsewhere in the game at the same time -- people who for example boosted and then did AW and AQ or the monthly EQ all while boosted. Complicated to refund those items.

But why? If they said the war won't matter point and rating wise, why would you use items?

I thought it was the previous war (on which I still used some potions) and used items on this one before I realised my mistake

To be fair, the in game message was extremely convoluted and even here in the forum it took a ton of confused comments until we finally got a straight forward answer on which war exactly wouldn't count.

Simply saying "war number 5" from the get go would have been more effective. I can see a lot of people misinterpreting the message and thinking it was actually about war number 4.

Not sure how it was confusing. They stated the dates for the war they meant.

Yeah well..... Mike also said war rating would be affected so I didn't want to lose any war rating. Then it turns out later on that got backtracked into war rating would not be affected. We won the war but spent items. I feel shafted like always anymore.
