game kicked me out of a quest? "the Quest has expired"

I don't know if this is a one-off issue. I played through again, using the same champs and it was cleared fine. but the game has had connection problems repeatedly this morning so I figured I'd see if anybody else has had problems.
Device and Version: iPhone Xr
Device Operating System: iOS 13.3.1
Mobile Carrier: AT&T
Cellular or WiFi: Wifi
Game Version Installed: 26.1.1
Game Mode: Event Quest
Champions Affected: Was using Cull Obsidian at the time
Active Boosts: No active boosts
Description of the Issue: Playing Master Difficulty, Chapter 3.2. After I defeated Gamorra, the game took me back out to the map but did not update the map. it still showed Gamorra as present and the screen froze. I had to close the game completely and when I re-entered it, it told me "The Quest had Expired". I had to restart that path but the energy I'd used was still gone.The game had been giving me connection issues leading up to that point.
