We were placed for AW, then said not enlisted?!?

And now it is showing us in attack phase now...what is going on Kabam??

    After enlisting for this current war, once defense placement please started yesterday (and then a few hours afterward), the enlistment time for the NEXT War begins.

    That is probably what you saw as NOT BEING ENLISTED YET (for NEXT war).

    Since you were placing Defense, you obviously were matched, and then today Attack phase started.

    No problem.
