Tools for alliance monitoring

Are there any particular software or apps that players of veteran alliance use in order to set the defenders for alliance war of all members keeping the defender diversity in mind? I once saw an image in which there were names of players and their respective defenders in front of them along with the pictures.. All software generated. If you know about any such tools/softwares/apps.. Please let me know.
I would also like to know how do you set a path for a player in alliance quest and alliance war.
