Act 6 Changes

Hey Kabam,

I think the community would like to know at least if you are considering changing Act 6 or if you plan on simply keeping it the way it is.

Also if anyone comes across this what changes would you like to see. For me it would simply be to remove a few nodes and gates.

Yes, Act 6 is being looked at, but we don't know how just yet. I know we're going to get. a lot of feedback here, so I should let you know that first and foremost, we're looking at The Champion 6.2.6 Boss.

We want him to remain a difficult fight, but with Book 2 on the Horizon (no established date), and the overwhelmingly positive reception of the Grandmaster fight, we know that we need to go back and take a look at this fight.

Before anybody asks, I don't have any more info on the fight, or if there would be compensation.

If a lot of players made it, that means it's possible !
6.2 the least fun of the whole act, but 6.1 is easy, 6.3 is annoying only with the bosses and 6.4 is really good except for some paths and the GM was awesome

Everyone knows the problem with 6.2 champion. You can only really get by him with a handful of champs. Like 5 or so. Out of 170. That's the problem lol.

I haven't beat it myself but hearing that Champion will be changed is encouraging me to push more of act 6. You think you might change anything else about act 6?

All I’ll say is after 100%ing it tonight, change nodes that go “90% less damage unless X is true”. They’re not fun and tend to be overly constructive, especially nodes such as Can’t Stop Won’t Stop and thunderstruck which have few counters. Although thunderstruck is better designed as it has a reward element

But fights like Acid Wash Mysterio and the ilk are the pain points that need to be looked at

I agree some combination make the fight unfair and broken when placed on certain champs this isnt on in Act 6, this appears in variants i believe and monthly UC

That’s good news to me. One of the main takeaways from the Announcement is that as it stands Act 6 is far more challenging and less rewarding than AoL, so with a buff to AoL on the horizon a serious look at Act 6 is required lest it simply becomes a stepping stone to Book 2. I know that even without the perfect AoL team completion and Exploration is probably not much more expensive than 6.2 exploration will be for 3x the rewards.

I have very high hopes for Book 2 - thematic lanes along the Variant lines of design. I don’t mind hard as long as it’s fun.

This would be great kabam mike! I’m working through act 6, I don’t consider myself a god and can hold my own but some of these paths are insane. It’s more of the combination of nodes that really punish our champs and units. I blow through whole paths and then get to the mini with really bad node combos. More in 6.3 and 6.4. But I know the community says act 6 in general.

Really appreciate the way you guys have handled this backlash. Can’t wait to see what’s in store with the fixes and all.

The dis strak node. With rouges I’m use void for wast not that bad but definitely Agerd with that’s acid wash just anoying

Reducing his indestructible charges to 3 (or reducing Champions block penetration instead) and removing the No Retreat node would be an easy adjustment that would keep the fight still difficult, but far from bs. You guys put away the 2 most viable counters for this fight (BWCV and MS). Yes I agree with u that they were not working as they should, but keep in mind u split the community in two: 1.Those who took advantage of these bugged champs and 2.Those who hadn’t these champs (or haven’t done the fight yet). Do you honestly find that fair? The Champion fight needs a tone down asap, that would be the least compensation for the second category players and would restore balance in the community. Finally tbh, the Champion fight is the cherry on the cake of act 6 bs fights. Sinister, mordo, darkhawk boss fights are only a few examples. 🤞u do the right thing

If a fair bit is changed I’ll be pissed if I don’t get compensation for the hell I went through exploring it, imo it’s only fair, I know you said you didn’t have info but just saying my opinion on the matter

I only did a single pass, with the learning curve, im out about 1500 units. I hope its changed because I won't be exploring it otherwise with those links up.

Yeah, if they’re compensating revives they’ll have to be lv3 and 4 which don’t go into overflow or we get some other form, it’s a needed change but after going through the hell of act 6 I’ll be seriously pissed if I don’t get compensation, and it would put me off doing content quickly after release

Question. And maybe not the right thread to ask. I think this fight was one of the best things to happen to this game. It is actually a fight that I would enjoying doing just for fun. Has there been any discussions about a game mode or another way to get directly to that fight? I think it would be fairly easy to add one portal path to any of the Sentinels (so you could chose which link to remove) that is accessible only after you 100% 6.4 (like a key as a reward to unlock the path). I would like to do the fight, but have zero desire to take down an entire path to do so.

Understandably you don’t have more info yet, that being said compensation is a must for those that spent countless units exploring act 6 100%!!!

Yeah, if they greatly reduce difficulty and don’t give people who’ve done it anything then I’m going to be seriously pissed and might not do content for ages after release

If there is no compensation for the champion if it’s changed, there’s gonna be a huge uproar.

I hope this brotha realizes that all of Act 6.2, as well as parts of 6.3/6.4 should be looked at instead of just the Champion Fight. If not, you’re seriously missing the mark in regards to what the community is saying about Endgame Content.

THANK YOU FOR THIS. although I've already beat the Champion, it was easily the single, worst fight in the act and one that almost every player i've spoken to in a variety of skill level from experienced to moderate hates. it's even worse than having to have a full roster with Mordo. so if there is a rebalance of that fight, i thank you on behalf of the players who will eventually fight him.

my thoughts on Act 6 as a whole is that some of the paths/nodes just make no sense and are so champion specific that it eliminates a huge population of players to even consider attempting it. the entire act is just disappointing. not to mention how overpowered the defenders are throughout. it almost requires perfect skill to be able to complete without boosts.

fights should be challenging yes and i don't think anyone is petitioning to not be challenged but throughout Act 6 the fights move from challenging to just frustrating unit grabs.
