What will happen to the Intel after the event will end?

I'm curious as to what will happen to the Intel once the event will end. Will the remaining Intel be returned as a resources or simply be removed from the game? :/

    I thought they said there was gonna be extra rewards in June to spend extra Intel we bought on?
