Anyone know why the matchmaking in this game is so bad especially the 1 vs 1 arena? Get yourself on any sort of run & you're coming up against champions that are 2, 3 or 4 times more powerful than you with a higher star rating too. Surely there are enough people playing at any 1 time that the matchmaking can be better. Very annoying

But arena matches progressively get stronger each match, until it gets up to the point of facing MAX'd “in-game made-up” Thanos or Kang own Private Teams.
Basically, you start arena against 3 opponents each 1 rank lower than your own, then each next Match one of the 3 slots will have been increased to 1 rank higher than previous (relative to yours), so after 3 matches you will face an “equal Ranked” team as your own. And after 6 matches opponent team will all be 1 Rank higher than yours.
Continues to basically around Streak 9 each being 2 Ranks higher than your team, which essentially starts the category of facing the “special MAX’d” THANOS or KANG teams (but at least those don’t have any Mastery on them).
Search for Arena Streak Guides to see what is needed, and when. And how to get past around Streak 9 up until you complete Streak=15 (where Thanos/Kang ends), and what is needed for the next (approx) 5 matches and then into maintaining an “infinite” streak from then on.
1v1 is pretty pointless anyways, and yes can vary wildly (seems random as to how strong a matchup they toss at you). But has no reward for maintaining a win streak in 1v1.
