We need a rethink of crystal opening..

So i have been playing MCOC for nearly 4 years, I have previously had a break from the game for about nearly 2 years because of absolute trash in this game. I have just opened my 6th 5* champion which has taken a huge amount of time, effort, and energy. I pulled superior iron man, which in my opinion is a useless champion.. what is the difference between this champion and OG iron man?

My 5* pool consists of void, mordo, rhino, falcon, iron patriot, and now superior iron man. Dont get me wrong, void is an amazing champion and I love having him in my roster. However, without being at the level where I am able to awaken any of these champions, the other 5 are just absolute trash. They offer NOTHING to my game in terms of quest development, and i certainly will not be wasting ANY resources on ranking them up, which is further hindering my development and progression in the game. I am so close to giving up on this game for the second time. After completing act 4 100% and getting the shards to get a 5* crystal, i and hope that my luck might change. But no, i pull ANOTHER useless champion.

Although this sounds like a moan, I want to highlight, probably for the millionth time, the frustration that f2p players like myself face in this game. You are literally sucking the life force out of me, and along with it my motivation to continue playing this game. When you put hours, days, weeks and months into this game, you expect to get something back. I think there needs to be a drastic change to the way that we can obtain new champions, because i certainly cannot continue to grind and grind and grind. The enjoyment is fading so quickly, and has significantly reduced after pulling superior iron man this evening.

There are a lot of good things about this game, and i get that there has to be an element of randomisation to opening crystals, but to pull 5 useless champions for 5* crystals off the bounce (void was my first 5*), there needs to be a serious restructuring of how you can obtain champions that suit your play style, your goals for the game, and for motivating people like myself to continue playing.

I'm f2p. I've been playing for around a year. Started to pick up the game semi-seriously in january and I got uncollected a month ago. I play around 2 hours a day and don't do arena at all. I have around 16 5 stars. There's something you aren't doing right

Did you just start playing the game again? It's a lot easier to get 5*s now. I get several every month. Just make sure you aren't in a deadbeat alliance and push hard on the monthly quests. If you aren't already uncollected then work on getting that. You will have access to better rewards.

Yeah i started playing again about a month ago, Im not uncollected but im working on it at the moment, im on 5.2.4. Thanks for the info - I just feel that everything i have experienced so far has been totally against me.

join a good alliance, get uncollected, 100% master EQ every month, and also UCEQ if you can. Always play the side quest too. Those usually get good rewards

You should just focus on your four stars for now. They alone can complete act five. Focus on getting uncollected, if you haven't. Just work through every monthly eq and push through story. 6 five stars with one amazing one isn't that bad, especially since you can still use four stars

You should still be able to get Uncollected with those 5 stars. Since you're not Uncollected yet, the emphasis of your progression level is on your 4*s, and maxing those guys out. I remember opening my first 5*, and it was a Cyclops, but that Cyclops still got me through some Act 5 content. Make use of what you have right now. Void and Mordo could definitely put in some work.
