Spider-Man (Stark Enhanced) - Where is he useful?

I was just wondering what the hype about this variation of spider man is all about?
Other than his clean gameplay, like do i need him awakened?

I used him on act 6, excellent for 6.3.6 Cap and great for some other lanes. Cleared most of Variant 3 with him. Dup is very important for optimal damage and taunt duration

2nd Edit: his intercept-focused playstyle upped my skill level a ton, and set me on a path to not rely on parry if I don’t need to.

To me, this is one of the most important points that need to be made, regardless of whether the kit is usable in Act 6: Playing Spark WELL makes you better at the game.

I was pretty average at dexing and intercepting, a while back. I just couldn’t get over the hump on stuff like Stun Immunity and Unblockable under 25 percent.

Until one day, I sat down and said “You know what. Spark is a character that rewards you for Evading and Intercepting. Learn how to play the game.”

And that’s what I did. I took a 3-star Spark everywhere for a week. Used him all the time until I could build up 7 or 8 Poise charges without blinking, attacking off intercepts.

Even now, during the Black Widow/Red Guardian event where we could only use 2-stars, I used Spark 75 percent of the time against Taskmaster, just making sure I was getting in practice in Evading and Intercepting.

I know that isn’t the question the OP asked, but I just wanted to emphasize the point @Hammerbro_64 made: For those who are skill capped, consistently using Spark properly makes you a better player.

To me, even if a person doesn’t find much use for the kit in Act 6, that still makes Spark very valuable to have around
It’s funny you mention act 6 (not ha ha funny). I found stark spidey instrumental in becoming uncollected. He was my mvp. For pretty much all the reasons you and hammerbro_64 mention. It’s amazing he’s more niche in 6 when like just 2 chapters before I found him indispensable

Stark Spidey used to be my boi for almost everything, specially AW. However, with the new map and new nodes in recent AW, i sropped using hjm. Also once i got better with Ghost, i stopped using starky as well.

Yep @ESF pretty much hit the nail on the head with what I meant about him being structured as an intercepting 101 course.

Now I’m thinking, are there any others who teach you a good skill to have outside of the champ themselves? One other example is Quake and her timing for evade parry style taught me how to reparry, before I had ever even heard of the technique.

    @Hammerbro_64

Archangel and Hyperion teach you parrying, you can also practice heavy punishing with hype (is that what it's called? Punishing heavies with your own heavies)

Proxima teaches you parrying and intercepting

Voodoo teaches you to keep track of combo, which is very specific but can be situationally useful. After 2 years of playing this guy I'm counting hits on every champ lmao

Stealth spidey has resource management in the really long fights (keeping track of charges, and resetting with sp3)

Magik and medusa (vs robots) for intercepting/whatever is left of backdrafting.

Aegon/Guilly/Starlord for keeping high combos and not getting hit.

There are probably more, but this is all I can think of.

He is very very strong; get to 10 charges and he absolutely destroys stuff. He can auto evade a lot of tricky specials fairly reliably, can stun chain (stun lock in V3) and has a great L2, especially against robots. He also has a relatively quick rampup that doesn’t require hitting the opponent. Oh yeah and he also has taunt so all or nothing nodes are EZPZ for him.

His biggest weakness is a lack of immunities, but besides that he is good for a wide variety of encounters (don’t take him against Annihilus please)

Edit: awakened and above 50%, he can crit on almost every hit, which increases your damage output significantly. Below 50% is block proficiency increase which can be handy, but his health pool is already low enough that you would be intercepting with him for the most part.

2nd Edit: his intercept-focused playstyle upped my skill level a ton, and set me on a path to not rely on parry if I don’t need to.

    THANK YOU FOR THE HELP!

Starky is a great champ, especially for Variants and Act 5. Great damage, assisted evade, taunt, shock. As others have said in this thread, he's a great champ for learning the game with and can smash a lot of content.

His usability in Act 6 is...weird. He falls into that category where he will be good for a lot of Act 6, but he's probably not going to be the best option for anything. I certainly didn't use my R5. If you have a developed roster, he'll probably fall to the wayside around this level, but he can probably plug a few holes in the roster that is struggling through Act 6.
