Bug in the buffed up node in northern expeditions?

So something weird in the Canadian difficulty of Northern Expeditions. The Mysterio path with the buffed up node doesn't recognise permanent fury buffs as buffs it seems. So sabertooth cannot do damage even after building more than 3 fury buffs, neither does Thing. Whereas Hyperion, Gamora with multiple furies and/or cruelties do damage as expected

What explains this?

That passive, not count as buff, buff is something you can nullify, while passive not

abilites are always abilities but not always buffs.

buffs can be nulified passives cannot.

look at the icon. if is a solid color circle it is a passive ability.
if it has a white circle around it, it is a buff.
