Kabam don't care about alliance rating.

It is all about the war rating, and that is why you see lots of alliances join shell alliances with low war ratings to get super easy fights.

Since the time I got to know that matchmaking will not include prestige or total alliance rating I was already very critical and pessimistic about the changes, but now my fears have come true, we matched against an alliance rated 9 million points more than us, meaning their players are rated 300k higher than us on average. This obviously leads to them having a much better defense and offense than ours and forces us to spend items. If this continues our AW season will be ruined and high rated alliances who may not even wish to push in war will invariably get better rewards even though the lower-rated alliances put in much more effort and items to win wars. This affects a lot of alliances in the 16-25 million range who were pushing way harder in war previously and got matched fairly against alliances close to their own strength. This is disheartening and ruins AW for me personally, I want it to be challenging but also fair which it doesn't seem right now.
I'm sure this has happened with many more people and I would like you guys to share your experience, I will also keep on updating this post with more wars to come.

This was the point. You guys with lower ratings shouldn’t be ranked so high. Many other alliances who are 30-40M are being pushed out of platinum by low ranked teams.

I’ve even seen plat 2 & plat 1 alliances that have only 5M team rating. With a very limited amount of spots in these top tiers they should go to the teams that actually deserve it. This matchmaking is meant to push teams like yours to the spots they really belong in. This is a long time coming.

Well you can't be beating people in silver or gold because of your prestige and be collecting rewards of platinum, now you gotta earn it or find where you fit, I love this matchmaking TBH.

Sorry, first couple matches will be painful while the system corrects itself. There's been extensive posting about how the prestige based matching system was very unfair for alliances with high prestige. This is the only way to correct it and return everyone's war rating to what it should truly be. If an alliance experiences unfavorable matches a few times in the beginning, it's because their war rating was higher then it should have been due to a flaw in the previous matching system. Things will even out soon as alliances find their way to an accurate war rating relative to their strength and experience.

ok I am going to be the bad guy here.An alliance under 20 mil and 9k prestige should not be able to finish plat 4. There are sooooo many alliances that are far larger with higher prestige that will steam roll either of those alliances that were struggling to hold onto gold 1 under old match making

Prestige doesn't really mean that much, compare prestige of r5 hype and r5 surfer. Do you think surfer is a better champ?
Same for total rating. You can have 8 r5s or 38, you still will use only 8
Finally, you have similar war ratings. It only means you got same rewards for previous season. Do you think it's fair you get same rewards when your alliance (based on your logic) is weaker?

It's called rebalancing for a reason. It's based on war rating, not prestige anymore.

So most of the matches will be like this. My alliance is 14mil facing a 25mil alliance but that's what's got to happen to get people in fairer fights in the future.

Teams that actually deserve it? Why do you think lower-rated alliances dont deserve it? They fought fairy too, used items, faced the same nodes and fought their way through equally tough alliances. High rated alliances have the advantage of a huge roster, many more options as well as having perfect counters. Low rated but equally hard playing alliances don't deserve to get shafted like this

System is just sorting itself out, 12 MIL ally almost getting p4? Yeah no thanks... You can't be fighting people in silver due to prestige and rating and be collecting higher tier rewards.

Yet they played against teams in gold 3 or silver tiers due to prestige and wanna earn rewards of higher tiers ??? Yeah now you earn it, match against fellow tiers and win.

Why not, we fought people the same prestige as us and won against them fair and square. The high rated G-2 and G-1 allys love this update because now they can squash the lower defenses of alliances like mine and reap rewards without putting in much effort, seems pretty good I guess
