AW defender placement question

I'm still a relatively new officer in my ally and just recently was asked to set defender diversity for my alliance. My question is, can you only place 1 champ across all battlegroups (2) or can I place a Doom, Medusa, Knight crawler or other champs in each battlegroup without messing up max diversity? I can't find where it would state this info. Thanks in advance

It is “PER BG”.

So yes, can place a Medusa in EACH of your BG's.

And to avoid a next question, a 4* Medusa and a 5* Medusa both count as being a Medusa (and so you would lose 1 diversity if placing both a 4* and a 5* in same BG).
