Some Suggestions Brought Forth by the Chinese Community
Hi Kabam,
I am Deus Wolfe from Taiwan. I have collated some suggestions which I feel would improve the game some slightly some tremendously from the Chinese players from Asia and would like to put them forward for your consideration:
1) Re-Roll Crystals
As content get more difficult, players want to feel that sense of satisfaction when they eventually pour units, time and effort into mastering these content. However the rewards on numerous occasions has let players down and on a whole, I am seeing the reluctance on my community's part with spending time or money on the newer content for RNG which may not work in their favor. Please don't get us wrong, most of us feel that the rewards thus far for the recent monthly events and 5.2/5.3 are alright but the randomness in these rewards take away the sense of accomplishment of actually completing these contents.
Proposal: Bundle in re-roll crystals which can be used on awakening gems and rank up gems with current offers. These offers can be offered once every few months with Odins or Black Panthers Chest. These would allow players to re-roll any existing gems that they have. Example I have a Cosmic five star awakening gem that I have no use for and I could use these crystals to re-roll it into something that is not cosmic as many times as I could whenever such a re-roll bundle offer comes out in the store. The same could be applied to rank-up gems and even T4 class catalysts.
2) A Chinese Forum
Most players from the Chinese community don't speak or understand English well and they are often out of the loop when it comes to the latest news or announcements. In fact during the recent bug in last month's monthly event quest that cause exploration rewards to be given out for a single run, some players thought that it was a special promotion from Kabam only to either find the rewards subsequently taken away or their accounts banned for 168 hours. We lost quite a few players (who departed our LINE chat group) who got frustrated and decided to quit the game. In fact, a lot of the alliances in the Chinese community are always lacking members because almost every month, they lose players who quit due to frustration. I do videos for the Chinese community but even I myself find it hard to keep up with the latest news or happenings because they tend to happen so fast and if not for the YouTubers out there who I subscribe to alerting me to the news via their videos, I wouldn't even be able to share such content with my community. We would appreciate if Kabam can do more for the Chinese speaking community. After all, the game was the number 1 grossing game in Taiwan and Hong Kong for numerous periods on Apple Store during the first few months but in the recent months, it has dipped considerably and players are reluctant to spend because they have absolutely no clue to what is going on.
Proposal: A Chinese forum would be the first stage and subsequently, good players from the Chinese community could be picked up by Kabam for the Contents Creator Program to promote the game in Asia.
3) Re-Work of the Existing Chinese Text in the Game
A lot of the translated text in character description and abilities make absolutely no sense in Chinese and are more often misleading or confusing. We totally understand that Kabam is base in the US and may not have the right people to do the translation but there are a lot of players in my community who have done the proper translations and posted these up as notes in our LINE groups. When doing videos for the Chinese community, I have choke a few times during my recordings reading out the Chinese phrases because they were grammatically wrong and I had to switch back to the English version and do my own translation in order to get the right information across to my viewers.
Proposal: Players in the community are more than willing to contribute to provide the right translations and if Kabam would engage us, we would be more than willing to help.
4) Working with Major Chinese Gaming Sites to Promote the Game
This is what we the seasoned players would like to see the most. The game has received close to no coverage on a local scale and it is purely via the word of mouth that we have manage to draw it new players. However, the lack of proper guides and tutorials make it hard to retain them and most end up playing for a month and then shelving the game because they simply have no clue as to how to progress from there. The existing AQ and AW format are intimidating and confusing to the newer players and alliances and they have no one to turn too leading to players quitting or simply giving up after a while. We are but a group of 200 people who found each other by word of mouth and there is only so much we can do. Without a proper working relationship with Kabam or at least some coverage by local gaming sites, we are unable to move forward and continue attracting new players to the game.
5) Bugs and Issues
This is the part that does not just concern the Chinese community but the entire MCOC community as a whole. The game is close to being 1 year old in Asia and over 2 years old in most parts of the world but it continue to be riddled by bugs and plagued by issues. Most of us play other games by local Chinese companies too and bugs are virtually unheard of and even if there is one, it would be fixed very fast. The recent server issues was also a major turn off especially for the Chinese community because unlike our English speaking counterparts, they do not have access to any avenue to find out what happen. Credit when its due because Kabam's strict no tolerance policies for hackers is what draw a lot of us to the game but the repeat bugs and server issues are of major concern to us. We really hope Kabam can take a step back and hold back on new content, fix ALL existing bugs and issues and give us a stable game to promote in our region before pushing out new content.
I am not sure whether this would end up getting read but I hope it does and improvements can be made to make our gaming experience with Kabam more enjoyable then what it currently is. Thank you for your time.
