Why i think you should rank up 6 stars.

Hey guys, so here is my insides on this toppic.

First of all, i'd like to say that when it's about champs like Omega Red, Aegon, Void or any other who actually need high sig, the way to go is an r5 5 stars.

Nevertheless, with the act 6 nerf so soon, the acces to tier 5 class catalyst is coming so close for a lot of summoners. The rarity of this resource is begining to fade, and this month's solo missions is another proof of that, if i'm not wrogn we'll get 4 crystals with shard just for doing the side event, so when people says the ranking up 6 stars is not wise at this point, I honestly disagree.

I mad the mistake not to rank up 5 stars when everybody say the 4 stars where still the way to go, and spending resources all over again the same champion is just dumb for me. So if I have a champ which I like, is kind of a good option and doesn't rely on his awakened ability, I definitely will r2 the 6 stars version.

What do you guys think?

If i think that It would cost me 10 alpha 2 + 2 tier5 basic catalyst to r5 one, and 7 alpha 2 and 3 catalysta to r2, then yes.

I'm not saying I would r3 that champ just today, nor this month, but it's nice knowing that when the game evolves I won't be needing that much resources all over again.

Well obviously if it’s a good champ that’s fine unawakened then pick the 6*... no problem with that. It’s the people that take “5*s ArE DeaD” to the next level that they’d rather rank up an unduped 6* Iron patriot over 5* warlock because of that extra star.

Well, even the 5s atsr version of iron patriot is kind of crazy to rank up.

My thoughts here obviously refer to any champ who is actually going to be a great adittion to your roster and it's going to help progress.

Just as an example my brother doesn't have any r5, champion, but he did r2 his guillo 2099, that guys account is going to fly super high.

personally, I think it's a pretty big difference between my 6* ghost and r4 and r5 champs. it's kinda frustrating because for my five stars, I can parry five hit combo twice and take a blocked hit and I have an sp1. for ghost, I do like 3 or 4 combos and don't get it. all that matters is the rank number. a r2 1* will gain more power than a r1 6*.

keep in mind, this is only power from landing hits and attacking and stuff like that, and not from power gain effects like power gain buffs

Think it’s something like 0.05% increase per rank.
So 6* r2 ghost would get 0.10% more power gain on hits. 5* R5 gets 0.25% extra.

If you're talking about ranking the same champ as a 6* or a 5*, I agree with you unless they need high sig. But if you have a better champ available as a 5* than your 6*, don't rank up the 6* just cause he's a 6*. A R2 and a R5 are practically the same so there's no point in ranking the 6* if the 5* will benefit you more for a T5B less.

I just checked and a 6 stars r2 has 120 , just the same as a 5 stars on r5.
An r1 6 stars has 110, which is the same as a 5 stars at r4.
I do have a 6 stars at r3 and this value is 130.

I’m having this issue with Thing. I have a 6* unawakened and a 5* awakened at R1 so I’m leaning towards the 6* cause is far cheaper in my case and the ability is good but not essential. Sucks power gain issue though

I believe it’s 5% per rank so quite a difference between a r1 6* and r4 5*, enough to need an extra combo to reach sp2.

Here you go...

For each Rank your Champion progresses, the Base Power Rate is increased by 5%. So any Champion at Rank 1 has a Base Power Rate of 1.00, while any Champion at Rank 2 has a Base Power Rate of 1.05.

This also means that a 4-Star Champion at Rank 5 has the same Power Rate as a 5-Star Champion at Rank 5; and a 3-Star Champion at Rank 1 has the same Power Rate as a 6-Star Champion at Rank 1.

Here’s the breakdown:
Rank 1: 1.00
Rank 2: 1.05
Rank 3: 1.10
Rank 4: 1.15
Rank 5: 1.20

This has been the case since the launch of the game, and was initially put in place to make Ranking Up higher rarity Champions more valuable to players.

There's only a handful of 6s worth ranking unduped. It's also difficult to get 6 sig stones right now. We'll see if cavalier EQ adds any. But for now R5s are still the ones needed for any content.

To me, the unduped 6s worthy of r2 and eventually r3 are (there may be others as well)

Without his sig he's a damage dealer that needs an entire synergy team that's shock immune. With his sig you get the option of a ton of utility out of him as well. There's absolutely no reason you should ever rank him unduped over a duped version just bc he's got an extra star
