Hey all, to give an update on timing: This won't be happening tonight, but we're hoping to get it out tomorrow morning (Pacific Time). Thank you for your patience.
Sounds great. Is it going to be at 10 AM PDT like all weekly/daily event changes are or perhaps later?
This difficulty was meant for everyone to compete for, the way it was set it was difficulty that didnt match the reward, they couldve upped the rewards of lowered the difficulty, they chose the latter. It was the right thing to do for the lower players. I have already completed btw. Before you all go off on me.
I just realized that the magneto buff should be out by the time the IMIW boss comes around, so unless he has a stun immune node or something else that prevents mags from using his heavies he’s going to make it smooth sailing.
Man I forget how absolutely toxic this community is. On both sides, asking for a nerf and bashing those asking for a nerf. Can you guys all be decent human beings for once and try to treat each other with at least the illusion of respect?

should've come a minute of two ago. Or maybe, thanks to @Demonzfyre , they cancelled it
One can hope.
what exactly do you have against it? Is it that you don't like easy content? Or are you afraid that it sets a dangerous precedent?
The latter. People wanted changed for the mere fact of they couldn't beat it. People ranked 4*'s for Variant 4 and didn't have a problem, what's one more champ? Stuff like this will keep happening when it's beyond their skill level or wanting to do what it takes to beat it. In this case, rank up a 4* or 2.
We already do this for every bit of content in the game. Now, one small event is released and the community is against want to rank up a champ.

The difference is most people expect Variants to be of high skill and end game content. The rewards alone show that—which lessens the cost of ranking up. They are marketed as end game content as well.
However, this event was marketed as something everyone could enjoy, not just the top players. Had the show up been marketed as a warm up for top players, there would have been less complaints. There would be no reason to adjust the difficulty.
The people that can complete show up without revives all have a legitimate chance to beat the tourney version or at least do fairly well. Of course, they may not score in the top without their synergies/multiple champs, but they’re in the same league.
For those that needed revives, the rewards didn’t justify the cost for most.
So the question is, “Who was the show up designed for?”
If you say “Most Uncollected and above players”. What we got did not accomplish that goal.
If you say “Top skilled players”. What we got did accomplish that goal. But again, Kabam didn’t market it that way.
Thus, they got themselves in a bind. Raise rewards and tell players, “By everyone, we meant those that are really close to competing and high skill but lack top player skill and/or a specific roster.”? Or keep rewards the same, and follow through on their original message of the event being geared towards the average player.

They chose the path of least resistance.
It was designed so anyone that can't participate in the tournament could see what they could have been fighting. It wasn't marketed as "so everyone can enjoy". It was marketed as "so everyone can try". They said in the announcement that the fights were identical. But people glaze over that completely. We don't read carefully here in this community and we see what we want to see when it comes to reading. No where in the announcement does it say "we made this for you to enjoy". It was always anyone can try it. They never said everyone could beat it.
What is the point of every1 trying, if they can't enjoy themself, what is the point of show up when if they wanted to just try they could go on the main even
The nerf is too much tbh, they should of lower hp or the champ restriction not both
And also I did complete the challenge before they announce the nerf and personally I don't care about compensation
The show up is there for any1 to challenge themselfs, 3stars are still open to join and have some fun themselfs.. The guy u just reply is right imo, the way they said it, it didn't make sense, that's why the changes and also the complains aside for the few that are against it, and honestly I don't understand why any1 would be against it, the challenge is there for any1 that want it, either be show up with 3stars or the main event.. The rewards are irrelevant imo

We can argue semantics all we want. What Kabam meant by “no matter progression or level” no one can really say. I personally don’t believe that meant they expected the bulk of the player base to even not try because they had no shot or just die over and over.
They also said, “If you’re not ready for the Showdown...”
If the difficulty was left as-is, how many of those that completed it without revives/items/boosts would then go on to either beat the tourney version or at least get SS down below 30%? I’d say 99%. Which again, leaves the show up difficultly basically for the same group of players.
You’re also choosing to take “just like... with key differences” to an extreme literal to serve your opinion. But that is a very vague comment. If I jump and flip kick a soccer ball, someone could rightfully say, “Wow, that looked just like David Beckham.... with some key differences.” Does that mean I should go pro? Does that mean I really executed it just like a pro?
The fact remains that the player base did take the wording to mean a significantly easier fight than what the pros will get. Watching Seatin’s reaction when he loaded up show up is pretty telling. I wouldn’t classify him as someone that wants easier content, more rewards, compensation, etc. He genuinely thought the show up would be considerably easier; as did most based on Kabam’s announcement wording.

Over/under it being released within 2 more hours?
