Use of Specific Rank Up Gems

Could you put in a patch that would allow us to use specific rank up gems.... I have multiple class specific ones that I have earned through variants (that are restrictive to certain champions) but can’t use them because it defaults to generic ones. What’s the purpose of earning these if we can’t use them?!?! An item should be accessible at any time and in this case it isnt. Please fix!!!
